About Ocean Tankers Corporation
Ocean Tankers Corporation (OTC) operates as the domestic shipping arm of SEAOIL Philippines Inc. (SPI). It ably facilitates the delivery of SPI products, not only within the Metro Manila area but also to other ports in the country. Being an affiliate of SPI, it shares the same vision, drive and devotion to achieving the highest standards of quality aspired to by its sister company. Before its incorporation in 1986, OTC was a division of SPI, dealing with transport requirements for its raw materials and finished products. With the increase in demand brought about by the surge in customers, SPI found it necessary to create its own shipping arm to meet this new challenge. The existing assets became the nucleus of this new shipping business. On August 14, 1986 this new entity was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission under the name of Ocean Tankers Corporation, with its principal office located at Mandaluyong City. Thus, a new company emerged, separate, distinct and independent from SPI. Starting out with a fleet of five vessels, comprising tugboats and barges, it has since acquired other units bringing the present number of vessels to 13. It now operates tugboats, tanker-barges and oil/chemical tanker vessels. These vessels make it possible to reach other sources of supply and distribution points domestically. OTC plays a major role in the operations of the SEAOIL Group of Companies. It ensures the transport of SPI's products reach customers everywhere on time, in good condition and within budget. Whilst serving SPI, OTC has been able to transport not only petroleum products but also edible oils, chemicals and other liquid products. It also provides tugboat assisting and towing services as well as chartering and ship management services. This capability has not been limited to serving SPI alone but over time has established an impressive external customer base. ship operators
